Skydance Paramount Set to Cut Nearly 2,000 American Positions – News
Skydance Paramount will start mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August worth $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance planning to reveal full details via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Prior news stated the firm was looking to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.
By December 2024, the company had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
