Check out 29 New Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)
The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a exciting addition or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.
Check out here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful background. All items mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards
Before we get into the many unique products and bundles available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.
Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking features. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can cheat powerful creatures into the game field when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a bit (It is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”
That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.
Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, many players were. But as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:
Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I led the design for over a year and we were aware it was going to be in standard and what other sets would be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy built around artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power
After declining to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Check them out below:
The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on demand. Sources indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon includes 37 land cards.)
How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.

Pizza Bundle
This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos available.
The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Cooperative Play Set
Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.
The general idea is that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
